Differential Fluid Exchange

Protect Your Drivetrain with Professional Differential Fluid Service

Your vehicle's differential works hard every time you accelerate, turn, or tow. It allows your wheels to rotate at different speeds while delivering power from the engine to the road. Over time, the differential fluid breaks down, becomes contaminated with metal particles, and loses its ability to properly lubricate internal gears and bearings.

At Waterside Auto Repair, we provide professional differential fluid exchange services for cars, SUVs, trucks, and all-wheel-drive vehicles. Our experienced technicians remove old gear oil, inspect your differential for signs of wear, and refill it with manufacturer-recommended fluid to help maximize drivetrain performance and extend component life.

Signs You May Need a Differential Fluid Exchange

  • Whining or howling noises from the rear or front of the vehicle

  • Grinding sounds while driving

  • Vibrations during acceleration

  • Clunking noises when shifting into gear

  • Gear oil leaks around the differential

  • Burning smell after long drives or towing

  • Increased drivetrain noise at highway speeds

  • Poor performance while towing heavy loads

  • Vehicle has reached the recommended maintenance interval

Important: Routine differential service helps prevent premature wear and costly repairs.
